Program<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2de1673 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2de1673\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Farm property class tax rate program helps support agriculture in Ontario by offering eligible farmland owners a lower property tax rate.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">You will be taxed at your municipality&#8217;s residential tax rate for any land and buildings used for residential purposes.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">The rest of your farmland will be taxed at a maximum of 25% of the residential tax rate.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">Farm properties that do not qualify will be taxed at the full residential rate.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><strong>Do you qualify for the program?<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">To be eligible for the property tax reduction through this program as a farmland owner in Ontario, you must meet these requirements:<\/span><\/p><ul><li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mpac.ca\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC)<\/a><\/strong> must assess your land as farmland<\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">Your property must be used for a farm business.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">Your farm business must have a valid Farm Business Registration (FBR) number.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">You must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>For more information on
